Discover the Amache National Historic Site, a relocation camp for US Citizens of Japanese descent located in Prowers County near Granada. Learn about this turbulent time in history through a program brought to you by the Lamar Public Library and the National Park Service.
No points on this program! It is just for learning about this important and terrible thing that happened in our history.
This program encourages families to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten.
Adult Reading Program!
Journey to Europe via the good books of that region! Use our missions to find books from the countries you love and keep track of your reading. We also have reading lists by genre to help you find something you will like. Earn stamps for your Reading Passports (get one at the library). This program will be ongoing, so read at your own pace! To get you started, monthly gift card drawings will be held for the first 12 months for people who log books. Check off the books that you have already read in the missions, but please only log books you read during the program. If you read something set in a European country that you feel should be included, read it, log it, and send in a book review so we can consider adding it to the mission! We hope this reading quest will give you years of pleasure!
